Dual Nature

Your character has two Natures - roll to see which one is influencing your current Action.  Each Nature comes with a list of eight possible instincts to follow.  The more characters act from their Natures the more Powers they get.

Can be played as an added mechanic to your favorite RPG.

In this system, Actions are designed to be open, based on descriptions that players generate, rather than rules.  Character succeed on a roll of 5 or 6 on any D6.  The number of D6s rolled is based on their Skills and Powers and Circumstances, but players have to take Consequences into account when describing their actions.

There are some great games out there will small rules-sets that allow for fun play in a wide range of settings and possible worlds.  They were my inspiration for this game.  I wanted to focus on the complexity of characters and the diverse forces that act upon motivations.  Also, I like things that are multifaceted.

This game is an eight-page booklet that fits on two sheets of paper.  There are five pages of rules, I tried to make them short and concise with lots of examples and illustrations.
