Palimpsest: Everybody is the DM

What if everyone was the DM?

What if everyone at the table had the same power to narrate the unfolding of the game and its world?

I guess there would need to be turn taking.  

Maybe the characters and party would be less of a focus.

What if DMs kept overwriting or obscuring previous decisions that were made by others?

Would the game world become a Palimpsest?         

• Palimpsest,  something reused or altered but still bearing visible traces of its earlier form.
